Introduced in 1987, the series was known as the Australian Nugget through 1989 and then switched its design focus to feature the Australian kangaroo species on the reverse each year. The collection has long featured a 1 oz gold coin along with three fractional-ounce options. The smallest of those is the 1/10 oz coin.
